If you've been monitoring our site for the
past couple of days, you might have noticed that nothing has happened.
That's usually not that big of a deal but we were supposed to launch our new forum package. Instead we
held off and consulted with a marketing firm. Since then, our site has
been going through some transformations, and so has our business model.
Without going into it much, basically, we dropped our prices immensely, immensely, I mean it folks, low, but in order to do so we needed to
transform our support services. Truthfully this is a better fit for us
even though the prices are uncomfortably low. Since our service model
has changed and our prices became lower, we needed a way to spend the
least amount of time updating and configuring. Initially I thought that
we were going to have to give you weak support, something that was
worth the money we were charging but not professional grade. Instead we
found some software that would automate some of these tasks for us, but
that still wasn't enough for me. I kept thinking to my self this isn't
professional, this isn't quality. I wanted to create an environment
where all of us win. So I thought back to when I was working for
fortune 500 companies and remembered all the money they spent on
development servers and staging servers and... there is was. You see,
what separated the fortune 500's from the start-ups that I worked for
was the levels of quality assurance that they placed on their sites.
That was what I wanted to give you. So we worked it out with our
hosting companies and set up our local servers to create these layers
of quality assurance. After all we couldn't call our service "professional " if it didn't stand up to the name.
